I have a friend who's gotten back in touch with old friends and it always ends up being really awkward and then she just ghosts them again lol
YEAH like this would end up even worse because there were ~feelings~ involved
she kinda let me on and then one day out of the blue dropped "hey i have a gf now, didn't want to hurt your feelings by telling you i was going on dates with her earlier" so i called her out on it and she responded with this kinda condescending message and then blocked me a day later so like
the fuck is my brain doing
going to the fair on thursday for my birthday π

Not that shipping isn't ridiculous but I've been using my local post office a lot and it seems like their minimum price for a "large envelope" is around $3-4 and then they add more onto the price up to a certain weight. So if they do anything extra like buy any kind of bubblewrap or cardboard wrapping + the price of the envelope I can see how it would actually be around that much? I think a lot of people take a cut on their item listing to list shipping as cheaper tbh Idk how ups or fexex price things though
i mean, like i don't mind having to pay extra to cover the costs of shipping, especially since this is an indie place, but human brains are Dumb and if i see "$53 free shipping" i'm like π and if i see "$47 + $6.50 shipping" i'm like π’
also it's just Weird because nail polish companies will also charge me ~$6 in shipping, but they're straight up shipping flammable materials in glass bottles. they also offer free shipping at ~$50-75, while this place is like "free shipping at $100 π"
just the being outdoors part tbh
normally i'm just a very indoorsy person, but i love going out to state parks/national parks and just taking in the sights without having to worry about emails or schoolwork. having a picnic is like the miniature version of that and it's great!! just sit there, eat some food, look at some nature π³π²πΎπ
bought realistic paint studio since it's on sale for $10 and i thought it would be cute for sketching. i really liked the pencils and pastels brush physics and will probably use those to do thumbnail sketches. i don't know enough about watercolors or oil paints to comment on those, but the brush textures seem pretty nice.
If you're looking at reviews for this, i think most of them were made in october or at least before ver 1.20 came out. v1.20 fixes some of the issues people had, mainly to do with canvases being locked to 72dpi (you can make a custom canvas and change the dpi/dimensions) and the frames being tied to whether you're saving as png or jpg

Is that digital art? That looks very realistic!
yeah! i used a software that seeks to emulate the experience of drawing on paper/canvas/etc as much as possible, so they have super hi-res textures that make anything drawn there seem very realistic. there's also these "frames" you can have when exporting your art to make it seem like you drew it irl lol
i spent 3 days making this miniature house and i wish i lived here
@UnidentifiedBlog said: Oh this is so nice!!! I'd love to make a little dollhouse like this someday π
i used a kit to build this, which you can buy online. the ones i get are from china, so unfortunately the instructions are in chinese, but it's pretty doable even if you don't speak a word of chinese.
there's a materials list in the beginning labeling each piece and its dimensions and there's pictures to go along with the written instructions. for example, A4 might be a 3cm x 3cm x 0.1 cm piece of wood, and the picture will show the A4 piece being glued to another piece of wood (that's also labelled).
@UnidentifiedBlog tbh i just really like cabbage a lot lol
that's valid
egg rolls aren't a thing in china (they're uniquely american-chinese) so when i tried one i just didn't have a fun time and it's stuck with me my entire life
honestly this might be a little boring but i would love to learn more languages like those polygots out there. knowing two languages isn't enough i need more!!!
like right now i don't have access to Real Language Classes so i'm using duolinguo and barely learning anything, but it's A Start
honestly, as a very pessimistic person i had to think really hard about this dfkjsfkdf
i guess i feel pretty hopeful for the future when i see all the young zoomers out there being aware of what's going on in the world and actively trying to enact change (even if they don't have the political power to do so just yet). and im not that old really, but it feels like people my age have already been beaten down real hard by the system and we're at that "welp shit sucks not much we can do" (even though again, we're not that much older than the zoomers)
